    Temporary Internet Files size : How to change Temporary Internet Files disk space to use

    Depending on you needs you may need to change Temporary Internet Files Folder size.
    If you surf the Internet a lot and have enough space on your PC, you might want to increase the size of Temporary Internet Files folder as increasing disk space for Temporary Internet Files can increase the speed of displaying of previously visited pages. But if you you increase Temporary Internet Files disk space, it decreases the amount of space available for other files on your computer.
    Also if you set the amount of space that is allocated to the Temporary Internet Files folder too high, the Temporary Internet Files folder may take up a large portion of your hard drive with outdated information. However, on the other hand, if the amount of space that is allocated to the Temporary Internet Files folder is too low it can increase the amount of time it takes for IE to display web pages.

    • In the "Browsing history" area, click the "Settings..." button.
    • In the "Temporary Internet Files and History Settings" window, in "Disk space to use" field, enter the amount of disk space used by the Temporary Internet Files folder.

    To increase/decrease amount of space for Temporary Internet Files in IE6:
    • Open the Tools menu.
    • Select Internet Options.
    • Open the General tab.
    • In the "Temporary Internet files" section and click the "Settings" button.
    • In the Settings box, under Amount of disk space to use, slide the bar to the right/left to increase/decrease the amount of disk space used by the Temporary Internet Files folder.
    • Click OK.

    • Select 'Tools'
    • Select 'Options'.
